Bayern have been unstable off the field, with Thomas Tuchel already aware that he will step down as coach at the end of the season, and have underperformed this season. Behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and with the dream of the title increasingly distant, they are on a mission to turn the game around against Lazio (1-0), in which they were beaten in the first leg, to see if they can salvage a year that hasn't been the best. In the first game against Lazio, Bayern struggled to make progress on the pitch. Once they had overcome the first line of pressure and won the ball between the lines, Lazio's lines were quickly lowered, creating a huge numerical superiority, combined with good space occupation, which meant that Bayern had few clear chances to score.
